ELKINS聽鈥 The Augusta Heritage Center of SA国际传媒 will present an online concert in collaboration with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., at 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 22. The presentation is part of聽鈥淎rts Across America,鈥澛燼 concert series sponsored by Facebook that features musicians from across the country in live concerts for online audiences. The Kennedy Center chose the Augusta Heritage Center as the curator for the West Virginia concert because of the organization鈥檚 longtime dedication to elevating regional traditional arts as well as the recent strides that they have taken to provide online arts programming. Augusta, in turn, chose Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia, as the filming location for the concert in order to highlight that organization鈥檚 work promoting West Virginia artists. The concert, titled聽鈥淲est Virginia Voices,鈥 will feature聽Doris聽鈥淟ady D鈥 Fields of Beckley and Bob Thompson of聽Charleston,聽as聽well as聽Ginny Hawker and Emily Miller of Elkins. The musical genres will span聽blues, gospel,聽country,聽Primitive Baptist聽and old-time. This聽concert is part of Augusta’s virtual聽event聽series for the upcoming fall and winter seasons.
